5 rows from Prophet 21’s open items, aged on each account’s terms · read at 6:02 am · query shown below
A governed, read-only query over the open items, aged on each account’s own terms. The rows come back with the answer.
The problem, as it happens in Prophet 21.
The number exists in Prophet 21. Getting it means knowing which screen, which report, which filter, or asking the one person who does and waiting until they’re free.
So people keep their own spreadsheets, and three versions of last month’s sales circulate on Monday.
How it works.
- 1
Ask in English
Open accounts over ninety days by salesman. Drywall sales this month against last. What we paid a vendor in the third quarter.
- 2
A governed, read-only query
Written against curated knowledge of Prophet 21’s tables and terms codes, checked by a governor: select only, single statement, row-capped.
- 3
The answer, cited
The figure, the table behind it, and the query, so anyone can check it. Validated against Prophet 21’s own screens during setup.
- 4
Export or automate
Excel or PDF in one click. Save the question as an automation and have it in your inbox every Monday.
How it connects to Prophet 21.
Lunica reads Prophet 21 through a read-only login to the Prophet 21 SQL Server database: the customer master, open items, invoice history, purchase orders and receipts, the item master, whatever the question needs. Each query is written against curated knowledge of Prophet 21’s tables and terms codes, so an account on 2% 10 Net 30 ages from end of month, and runs as a single select capped at a row count. The model sees the question, the schema context and the rows behind the answer, never the whole database.
Nothing is written to Prophet 21 by Ask, and nothing is sent on its own. The governor allows one read-only select per question and refuses everything else. An export is a file a person downloads; a saved question goes only to the inbox of the people you named. If an answer leads to a change, a credit limit, a price, a count, that change is keyed by your team in Prophet 21, never by a query.
What a week looks like.
- The number comes from the system of record, not a spreadsheet.
- Every answer shows its work.
- Every question is logged with the user’s name.
- Monday’s report writes itself.
Questions
Can it change anything in Prophet 21?
No. Every query passes a governor that allows a single read-only select and nothing else.
Is it accurate?
Answers are validated against Prophet 21’s own screen values during setup, and every figure links to its rows so you can check.
Who can use it?
Anyone you give an account. Read-only accounts can ask; only named users can send or act.
Which Prophet 21 data can it see?
Whatever the read-only account is granted: the customer master, open items, sales history, purchasing, inventory. The scope is set at onboarding and can be narrowed per user.
Does it run on our server?
Yes. Lunica runs on one Windows server inside your network, or beside your hosted Prophet 21, and every query runs there against a read-only login to the Prophet 21 SQL Server database.
Does our data train anything?
No. The model sees the question and the schema context it needs, and nothing is used for training.
Does it need a server?
Lunica runs on one Windows server inside your network, or beside your hosted Prophet 21, set up and maintained by Lunica. It reads Epicor Prophet 21 through a read-only login to the Prophet 21 SQL Server database. There is no inbound connection from outside your network.
What does Lunica read in Prophet 21?
The customer master, open items and terms, purchase orders and receipts, the item master, quotes and order history, as each workflow needs them. Read-only, and only the rows a task is about.
Can it post to Prophet 21?
Nothing lands in Prophet 21 without a person. What belongs in Prophet 21 goes back as a Prophet 21 import or API call where one exists, or keyed by your team from what Lunica prepared.
What about our documents?
Invoice copies and scans keep living in Document Link. Lunica reads them when a workflow needs one and never writes to them.
